Yes. If you are logged into GMS Instant Messenger whether or not you have email messages wafting in your mailbox is displayed at the top of the GMS Instant Messenger client window. The message status is constantly updated as messages arrive in or are collected/read from your mailbox. This facility is available no matter which method you use to access your messages, WebMail, POP or IMAP.
