GMS Anti-Spam provides a facility to check attachment types so that certain attachments may be prevented from entering the system. For example, the administrator can choose to prevent .EXE, .COM, etc. files from reaching company PC’s by using this setting.
Answer
If a customer has not enabled virus scanning (even without a scanner attached), the check on the attachment type was not carried out.
Our engineers are aware of this issue and have resolved it in version 7B available from 8-Feb-02.
