Internet Explorer tries to make a connection whenever an option is clicked on (Transaction Level, for example) and the interface hangs completely.
Answer
Either disable IE proxy settings altogether, or go to Tools>Internet Options>Connections>Lan Settings>Advanced in Internet Explorer. Enter the machine’s IP address in the field entitled “Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with:”
