Why does GMS Webmail change the = in my messages to =3D?

Question

I received a message in GMS Webmail and when I replied to it in webmail the resulting message had =3D where the = were. This encoding was not there in the original message.
The message I then send with these changes is broken when received by Eudora due to the encoding.

Answer

This actually only affected certain Quoted Printable encoded responses where there were no spaces on the
line AND the 72nd character of the encoded line was within a QP encoded characters.

This has now been fixed so that the message is no longer broken.
