Why do I get an error relating to a file IPAllowed.txt after upgrading to build 3213?

Question

With the upgrade to Build 3213 the IPAllowed settings which were previously held in the registry have been moved to a file to provide additional storage space.

Answer

Unfortunately the upgrade writes this file to the directory that the upgrade was initiated from rather than to the Gordano base directory.

If you encounter this problem, simply copy the file ipallowed.txt from the directory you ran the installation program from to the gordano base directory and stop and restart the GMS services.

If you are just starting looking at using the Allowed IPs fuctionality then you should create a file called "ipallowed.txt" in the gordano base directory. Then in the Admin Gui go to Support > System Variables and look for a variable called IPAllowed and ensure it has a value of ipallowed.txt

You should now be able to use the Allowed IPs functionality. You will however need to stop and restart the GMS services after making any changes to the Allowed IPs settings.

Note: If you make any changes to the Allowed IP list prior to the release and installation of the public release immediately after Build 3213 then you will need to stop and restart the SMTP service before these changes will be applied.
