Why can users not set autoresponders via the mail manager account?

Question

The Mail Manager is a special account which will allow specific users to change the characteristics of their account by sending details to it. For example, a user could change their “auto-response” message by sending an email to the Mail Manager.

The mail manager is implemented by a DLL which is included with releases of GMS software. This can be set to run under a user account by selecting the DLL under the processing tab.

Answer

In release 3032 mail to the account set up to run the mail manager DLL could cause an exception (Trap) while trying to process the password included in the mail message.

This is fixed in release 3037 and later.
