On very rare occasions, an email sent by GMS Webmail appears not to arrive. There is a copy in the Sent folder, but no message arrives at its destination.
Email generated by other mail clients is not affected.
What could cause this?
Answer
GMS Webmail creates the message but can’t complete the From clause because it can’t access the user’s personalities. The personalities are not available because the internal mySQL service has been stopped.
The fix (included in all builds from 3037 and greater) checks that the mySQL server is available and produces a warning if the service can’t be detected. MySQL is automatically restarted.
