Why am I unable to log on to the POP or IMAP services?

Answer

Assuming that the account is a valid account on the server and the usrname and password being presented are correct, there is normally only two reasons for this.

  1. The product key has expired
  2. All available pop/imap seats have already been taken. This can easily occur if you have a 50 user licence for each of GMS Mail and GMS Webmail. In this case the first 50 users to connect to a service will be allowed to proceed whereas any further connections will be treated as unknown users. You should give specific users rights to access either GMS Mail or GMS Webmail.
  3. The ip being used by the client is not allowed to connect to the server.
