Answer
When the system is set to require confirmation of joins to the list, the email addresses listed in the join moderation GUI of GMS Communication Server are actually ones where the system has not yet received confirmation back. Since no confirmation has been received from the email address of the person requesting the join, the email address is visible in the join moderation section of the GUI but cannot be "moderated" or manipulated by the list administrator.
The purpose of enabling the show-through of email addresses waiting confirmations within the join moderation interface of the GUI is to make the list administrator aware of what email addresses are still awaiting a confirmation message to be returned. The list administrator is then able to, if they so desire, take steps to contact the potential candidate for the list and check to see if they are having problems returning the join confirmation.
We have now added a new section which indicates whether an email address displayed in the join moderation section of the GUI is awaiting confirmation or moderation.
