What is the RSET clause?

Question

I understand that one of the features of SMTP is the RSET clause, I am curious to know more about this…

Answer

Issue the RSET command at any time in a typical mail transaction to discard any data previously stored.

The purpose of this command is to clear the buffers that store data such as the sender, recipients, and the actual mail message.
