Is it possible to include presence information in outgoing emails?

Answer

Yes. Providing you are running a GMS Instant Messenger license it is possible to include presence information in all email messages produced by GMS Webmail. This is done by embedding images in the right hand side of the document. Users may specify their own images to be used or a standard set of images may be used across an organization. Recipients of the message can then click on the Presence icon to establish an Instant Messaging conversation with you.

This presence information is updated every time that the email message is viewed, i.e. your presence at the time of sending he message does not matter, presence information is fetched every time the message is viewed. If the recipient of the message also uses GMS Webmail they will see a small icon enabled at the bottom of the message window indicating your presence, even if you do not include any icons in the message itself.

A company logo may also be included in addition to the presence information.
