How do I set up GMS Webmail to use the standard WWW access port?

Question

I don’t want my users to have to use the ":9000" suffix in the URL to log on to GMS Webmail, I want to use the standard www access port 80 so that users do not have to supply a port suffix?

Answer

To change the port that GMS Webmail responds on, log on to the GMS Mail Interface and select the INCOMING icon, select the ports "tab" and change the "WWW GMS Webmail GUI Port" to 80 and click update.

Now when your users use the URL http://<machine>.<yourdomain>.dom/ they will be provided with the GMS Webmail login page.

You also require to have an A record set up in your DNS records for the fully qualified name of the machine, i.e. machine.yourdomain.dom.

Please also ensure that no other services are using port 80 on your server including the Gordano WWW service.
