Question
How do I prevent acting as an open relay for spammers?
Answer
All versions of GMS and GMS Webmail are protected from open relay by default. Therefore GMS and GMS Webmail will not be relaying an email unless you make it do so.
In order to secure your site to prevent open relay, yet still allow relay for certain IP addresses, you need to do the following:
1. Under Security>Relay, select the default option: Disallow relay, all rcpt clauses must be local. Then press update.
2. Then go to Security>Local IP and enter any IP addresses which are permitted to relay through your system. You can use wildcards, or include a range of addresses. When you have added these addresses, press Update.
