How do I enable Zero Hour protection on Solaris SPARC platform?

Answer

Recurrent Pattern Detection and Zero Hour technologies are only available on Solaris Version 9 and upwards. By default we ship the libasapsdk.so for Solaris 9 but this also appears to work correctly on Solaris 10.

If you have an issue with running the Zero Hour checks on Solaris 10 please contact our support department who will ship you a libasapsdk.so file specifically for Solaris 10.

Please note that anyone intending to use the RPD and Zero Hour technologies will need to have the GNU libraries for C++ installed because the are required by the above library. The libraries can be obtained by installing libgcc-3.3.2 from http://www.sunfreeware.com/indexsparc10.html or http://www.sunfreeware.com/indexsparc9.html.

After installing libgcc, the user will have to create soft links as follows in the /lib directory.

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 28 Mar 6 08:31
libgcc_s.so.1 -> /usr/local/lib/libgcc_s.so.1
rwxrwxrwx  1 root other 29 Mar 6 08:26
libstdc++.so.5 -> /usr/local/lib/libstdc++.so.5

Without the above changes GMS will work correctly but you will be unable to take advantage of the RPD and Zero Hour technology.
