Question
Determined spammers may vary the content of spam messages ever so slightly in an attempt to bypass any filters in place. Is there a way to deal with this?
Answer
The Restricted Word Filter in Gordano’s products supports a basic set of regular expressions. These can be used to filter out incoming spam messages where certain parts of the content vary but other parts remain static. However, the static part if used on its own could also filter out genuine email messages.
The filter supports the following expressions
* | matches any number of characters inluding white space |
? | matches a single character |
[a-f] | matches any character in the range a thtough to f |
