Question
You are using Outlook Express to send a message with a number of addresses in the To: clause.
The message fails with:
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was .............. Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: ´550 No such mail drop defined.´, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79
The message was not deliver to anyone.
Answer
Outlook Express, up to and including version 6.00.2600.0000, does not correctly recognize the command issued by many mail servers when an incorrect address is used in the To: clause and so the messages fails.
All addresses prior to the bad address will also fail.
The key is in the “550 No such mail drop defined”…
This should instruct the client to pass over this address and continue to send to the other correct addresses.
You will need to remove the bad address and resend the message.
This is issue with Outlook and Outlook Express, not an issue with GMS software.
