Question
How do I specify a domain for my machine in Windows 2000
Answer
To enter a domain to be used by TCP/IP in Windows you need to:
Go to the control panel, System
The Full Computer name should be a fully qualified internet domain in the format hostname.domainname.com, e.g “mail.gordano.com”
If it is not, please change this by following these steps:
->For computer name, click on “change settings”
->Click the “change” button
->Click more
->Enter the Primary DNS suffix of this computer, do not include the hostname portion of the domain name. For example, for Gordano, our domain name is “gordano.com” (NOT
“mail.gordano.com”).
