Detail
-
- Check that the WorkgroupShare add-in has not been disabled.Outlook 2002/2003: Click Help, About Microsoft Outlook, and click Disabled Items. WorkgroupShare or WSOLADDIN may be listed. If either is listed, enable it again by selecting it and clicking Enable. Click OK and check that the Share menu item has been restored under Tools. You may need to restart Outlook for this change to take effect.Outlook 2007: Click Help and choose Disabled Items. WorkgroupShare or WSOLADDIN may be listed. If either is listed, enable it again by selecting it and clicking Enable. Click OK and check that the Share menu item has been restored under Tools. You may need to restart Outlook for this change to take effect. If after Outlook is restarted the Share menu still does not appear, then select Tools >> Trust Center from the menu bar and then click on Add-ins. Under Manager, click on the Go.. button. In COM Add-Ins, scroll down to WorkgroupShare Add-in and ensure that it is checked. Click OK and Restart Outlook
-
- Check that Outlook is configured to load the WorkgroupShare add-ins. Open RegEdit by clicking Start >> Run and typing RegEdit. Expand the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\WSOLAddin.Addin
If there is not a key called WSOLAddin.Addin in Addins then please navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\WSOLAddin.Addin
If neither key exists, then the add-in is not installed and the ClientSetup application should be re-run. Please keep in mind both of these keys need to exist for it to load correctly.
You may also reinstate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry key by downloading WSOLAddin.zip, and running WSOLAddin.reg therein to import this key into your registry. If the HKEY_CURRENT_USER key doesn’t exist, just download the WSOLAddin.zip file extract the contents and then edit the file. You’ll see a section with HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, simply change this to HKEY_CURRENT_USER save the file and then double click it to restore that registry key, this should then make the addin appear in Outlook.
Under the WSOLAddin.Addin key a registry value should exist called LoadBehavior. Ensure that this has a value of 3.
Restart Outlook and confirm that you now have a Share menu entry in the Tools menu of the Outlook menubar. If the client is running Outlook 2007, then the add-in may be viewed in Trust Center; open the COM Add-in manager by clicking Tools | Trust Center, selecting Add-ins on the left, ‘COM Add-ins’ in the Manage drop down list, and then clicking ‘GO’. WorkgroupShare must be listed and checked. Repeat the procedure, selecting Exchange Client Extensions in the Manage drop down list. Check that ‘Redemption Helper Outlook Extension’ is listed and enabled.

- WorkgroupShare V1 only: If you have connected a handheld device to your computer and you connected it before starting Outlook, it may have run up a background copy of Outlook without loading the WorkgroupShare client add-in. Starting the Outlook program after this will cause Outlook to latch onto the background copy and the Share menu item will not be present. Disconnect the device and start Outlook before connecting the handheld device. In this way the synchronization software for the handheld device will latch onto the existing instance of Outlook with the WorkgroupShare client add-in loaded. This issue aplies only to WorkgroupShare v1 customers who have not yet upgraded to WorkgroupShare v2.
