Symptoms
- When I run the WorkgroupShare server setup program I get a database error.
- When I run the WorkgroupShare server setup program I receive the message 'Undocumented Error' after clicking Finish.
Cause
The computer on which you are trying to install the WorkgroupShare server application may be missing the correct ODBC drivers.
Resolution
You can download these from Microsoft from Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.5 Service Pack 3. Press the Download link on the right hand side of the page. Download and install mdac_typ.exe as instructed. Then re-run the WorkgroupShare setup program.
Note: If you have MDAC 2.6 or later already installed on your system then you should just download the updated Microsoft Jet 4.0 drivers from Microsoft Knowledge Base Article – 239114

If the WorkgroupShare setup files were manually extracted from the downloaded installation file then the database file can become marked as read only. Remove the Read Only attribute from the database file, WorkgroupShare.md_ before running the file setup.exe
