Client setup fails with the message 'The server is not available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists'
This message can occur during the WorkgroupShare client setup after selecting the user account, entering the password and clicking Next. Setup briefly displays a window stating ‘Please wait while the Outlook folder structure is loaded’. Then the error message ‘The server is not available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists’ is reported by Outlook. This occurs when WorkgroupShare queries Outlook for the list of folders to share and Outlook does not respond as expected. It can occur if Outlook is configured to use multiple user profiles or if the PST file has been locked with a password. To allow the client setup to complete, deselect the option ‘Select which Outlook folders to synchronize’ before clicking Next. When Outlook is next started the folders to be shared can be selected by clicking Tools, Share, Settings.
Please note that WorkgroupShare v1 does not currently support multiple user profiles in Outlook.
