To upgrade from :-
WorkgroupMail v8
If you are covered by a current WorkgroupMail maintenance agreement, download and run the latest WorkgroupMail v8 setup program. Your settings and messages will be retained. If you do not have a current maintenance agreement, please purchase one from here before proceeding.
If Softalk Organizer is being used as a web based mail client, download and install the latest release of Softalk Organizer.
WorkgroupMail v7 (All versions)
To upgrade to the latest release of WorkgroupMail v7 refer to the FAQ How do I upgrade to the latest release of WorkgroupMail v7?
If you choose to upgrade to WorkgroupMail v8, first make a backup copy of your WorkgroupMail data folder. To upgrade, download and run the latest WorkgroupMail v8 setup program. Your v7 settings will be retained. Note that installing WorkgroupMail v8 will convert your existing licence to a 30 day evaluation licence. During this period you will need to decide whether to revert back to WorkgroupMail v7 or to obtain a licence for WorkgroupMail v8. If you are covered by upgrade protection or a current WorkgroupMail maintenance agreement, send a request for a new keycode to Sales at Softalk Ltd. Otherwise you will need to Purchase an upgrade licence.
Note that the WebMail client associated with WorkgroupMail v7 has now been superceded by Softalk Organizer. In order to maintain your web based mail access, download and install Softalk Organizer.
Note that the Virus Protection plug-in is no longer shipped with WorkgroupMail v8. WorkgroupMail v8 now uses an integrated anti-virus solution with a self updating anti-virus engine provided by BitDefender. This works independently of any other anti-virus product that may already exist on your mail server computer. Your free 30 day trial of WorkgroupMail v8 includes a trial of the BitDefender anti-virus solution. In addition to the free 30 day trial, existing version 7 customers that have purchased the Virus Protection plug-in can take advantage of a free one years subscription to the BitDefender anti-virus solution.
WorkgroupMail v6
WorkgroupMail v6 is no longer supported. First upgrade to WorkgroupMail v7 as described in the FAQ How do I upgrade to the latest release of WorkgroupMail v7? Then upgrade to WorkgroupMail v8, from v7, as described above. You will need to purchase an upgrade licence.
