When I try to open a .exe attachment using WebMail, Internet Explorer seems to hang while it appears to be opening a page.

Symptoms

Internet Explorer hangs, or stops responding, when trying to open an exe attachment.

Resolution

Configure the Webmail virtual directory in IIS to be have execute permissions for Scripts only. Check, and if necessary, remove execute permissions for executables.
