Remote installing a client on Windows 2000 does not work when using the install at next logon option.

Symptoms

When remote installing the Softalk Share Server client on a Windows 2000 computer using the install at next logon option, the user’s Outlook profile is not updated to use the Softalk Share Server message store.

Cause

Client setup is not correctly added to the runonce key for the specified user, so client setup does not silently run when the user next logs on to the computer.

Resolution

This is a known issue with Windows 2000 and Microsoft have released a hot fix that addresses this problem. Please visit Microsoft’s Website for more information.
