The Virus Protection plug-in and the Content Filtering plug-in must be purchased and licenced independently. If the Content Filtering plug-in is purchased on its own then it will not include the Virus Protection function.
When both plug-ins are licenced together, the Virus Protection function is incorporated into the Content Filtering plug-in. This gives greater power and flexibility to the two functions when combined, allowing a more diverse response to be generated when a virus infected message is discovered.
NB. When running the evaluation version of WorkgroupMail, all plug-ins are licenced for the trial period giving the appearance that the Virus Protection function is contained within the Content Filtering plug-in. This is not the case. If the Virus Protection plug-in is not purchased then WorkgroupMail will not perform virus checking.
NB. This information applies to WorkgroupMail v7 only. WorkgroupMail v8 includes Content Filtering as standard and Virus scanning is an optional subscription based service that can be used with WorkgroupMail and Content Filtering.
