Question
I have noticed that some of the GMS services are not starting. Why would this be?
Answer
The most likely causes for this include…
- One or more of the GMS services having been explicitly disabled through Windows’ "Services" by somebody with access to the server.
- It is possible that one of the services silently trapped meaning it will have generated a log file with either .wtg or .snt file type extension in the "GordanoLog" directory. Normally POST should be able to restart itself but this isn’t always the case.
- Microsoft’s DEP (Data Execution Prevention) security feature was falsely triggered and thus prevented some of the services from starting. Configure DEP to exclude any of the GMS services from its checks.
