Why when using Netscape why do I see calls to /admin/reports/newalertlist.mml every couple of seconds?

Answer

Netscape management of applets is different from IE. The applet is not destroyed when the page containing
the applet is unloaded.

This has been fixed in builds 3136 and later and the applet no longer makes continual calls to /admin/reports/newalertlist.mml.
