Why when I use Outlook Express on a Macintosh do I get the error "too many POP3 connections"?

Question

I have OE on a Mac and I have multiple accounts on a single GMS server. When I try and do a collect from POP it seems to be trying to collect from all my accounts at the exact same time. Is there any way to force OE to do one thing at a time ?

Answer

While we are not able to offer technical support for Outlook Express as it is not a Gordano product, we can offer a work around until you are able to find an answer from Microsoft technical support.
Raise the limit for POP3 connections from a single IP at Security<Sessions and increase the value for "Maximum POP3 Sessions from one remote host" to the number of pop accounts being checked at a single time plus 2 for good measure.
This will allow all those connections to come through at the same time from a single IP.
