Why doesn't the PUT command work with MIME attachments?

Question

When I try to add a file to a list directory with the PUT command some POP clients don’t work correctly. Why not?

Answer

This problem appears in version 3 of GMS List Server,

Unfortunately some POP clients don’t code MIME messages in the standard RFC format. Some mailers encode the commands as well as the attachment.

If you have this problem, try another POP client (or mailer) and let us know so we can look into the problem. It might be possible to fix it if you send us the details.
