Why doesn't the bayesian filter work on Linux?

Question

I’ve installed the annoyance-filter and activated the bayesian dictionary, but I can’t import mail, why is this?

Answer

It’s possible your installation of Linux doesn’t include some of the file dependencies that are required by the bayesian filter.

You can confirm this by using a shell to navigate to the directory that the annoyance-filter program is located, and running the command:

./annoyance-filter --help

If you see a response stating that there was an error loading a shared library, you will need to source the appropriate package for your Linux distribution and install that library, then test again.
