Question
I am using Gordano’s multi threaded virus solution GMS Anti-Virus, formerly known as VPP. My "VS" log shows I am successfully loading the correct dynamic link library labelled "ntmvpp.dll" and I have the latest definition files installed. However when I view the "Signature Updates" page the engine version shows "Not installed"!
GMS Anti-Virus continues to work correctly, but how do I determine that it is correctly installed?
Answer
This is due to the VscanProgram system variable not being correctly set. To rectify this you will need to the system variable to set it to the correct value.
Please go to the Support > System Variables page, browse through the variables in the scrollable box at the top of the page until you reach "VScanProgram". Highlight "VScanProgram" from the listbox by clicking on it with the mouse, then as the new value, enter the full path to the location of the GMS Anti-Virus files. This is normally in the "BinCommand" directory under the base installation directory for your Gordano software.
- If you are running on one of the flavours of Unix the default installation directory (or basedir) is /opt/gordano/mail so you would enter a value of /opt/gordano/mail/bin/command
- If you are running on Windows the default installation directory (or basedir) is c:gordano so you would enter a value of c:gordanobincommand
Update this by clicking "Change Variable" button. You should now go to the Signature Updates page where you will be able to see the correct information on the virus signature files that are currently being used.
