Question
I’ve just upgraded my client machine to Windows XP and it would appear that email is being sent and recieved more slowly. Why is this?
Answer
Windows XP Professional reserves 20 per cent of the Internet bandwidth for the QoS (Quality of Service) packet scheduler.
To use this 20% for email, launch gpedit.msc and open Computer Policy > Administrative Templates > Network > QoS Packet Scheduler and change the percentage allocated to zero.
