Why do I see WWW traps in version 7A?

Question

I have disabled the use of Cookies for session control in version 7A and am now seeing traps in the GMS WWW service. Why is this?

Answer

In Version 7A disabling the use of Cookies for session control may lead to traps being generated by the WWW service.

To ensure you have this enabled go to SECURITY–>Session Control and ensure the option "Use IP addresses Only" is NOT selected, by default GMS Webmail is configured to use both cookies and IP addresses, and is the preferred setting. You may also use the option and "Only Use Cookies".

If you have the option "Use IP addresses Only" you may experience problems in using GMS Webmail.

Our engineers are aware of this issue and have resolved it in version 7B available from 8-Feb-02.
