Why do I get an error in my SMTP log telling me that the file filterscript.mml was not found?

Question

I am getting an alert informing me that a file called filterscript.mml has not been found while processing a message in SMTP. Why is this?

Answer

This file is created by the Global Filters or Domain Filters respectively, within GMS Anti-Spam.

To correct this log into the GMS Administration interface and go to Administration > GMS Anti-spam > Content then select the Global Filters tab. If there are any filters visible in the list of filters click on the D button to the right of the filter to delete it. Repeat for each filter shown.

Once all of the filters have been deleted, click on the LIVE button.

Repeat for the Domain Filter tab.

You will no longer be running any filters and should no longer see the error in your logs.
