Why do all messages result in a GMS Anti-Virus virus warning?

Question

I have installed GMS Anti-Virus, and now all messages are resulting in a GMS Anti-Virus Virus Alert message.

Answer

GMS Anti-Virus allows you to specify what should happen if a virus scan fails for any reason – this setting can reject or ignore messages which fail the scanning process.

If you have set this option to reject, and the GMS Anti-Virus scan engine files are not present, all messages will fail the scanning process and will be rejected.

To resolve this issue, disable the rejection of messages from the Virus Actions section of the interface, then perform a GMS Anti-Virus update from the Signature updates page. Once the update has been sent, and the update has occured on your system, you can then re-enable the rejection of messages which fail to be scanned.
