Why can't I see my GMS Communication Server icon in the interface?

Question

I have a GMS Communication Server key, but I do not have an icon in my interface to administer it – what can I do?

Answer

This problem is usually due to an inconsitency between what products you have installed, and what is set for the interface to display.

To resolve this, you need to change some System Variables to correct what is displayed in the interface.

After viewing the knowledge base entry regarding System Variables, go to the Support->System Variables section of the inteface, and view the current value for the two variables:

ProductsInstalled
ProductsDisplayed

These will likely have the same value. Take the current value for these variables, and add 2, then set the new value. You should then find that the icon to administer your list server is available.

For example, if the values are currently:

ProductsInstalled=61
ProductsDisplayed=61

You would need to set the two variables to a new value of 63, resulting in:

ProductsInstalled=63
ProductsDisplayed=63

Keywords:ProductsInstalled, GLList icon, icon, GLCommunicator icon
