Question
I am trying to connect to the Hotmail service using HTTPMail from Outlook Express, the connection continually fails. My connection is going via the GMS Proxy Server.
Answer
If the Proxy Server has authentication enabled then Outlook Express is unable to connect to remote systems. This is a known issue with Outlook Express being unable to authenticate you using Proxy Server where Access Control is enabled for Web Proxy.
GMS is behaving correctly and there are no problems with the way that GMS is operating. If Outlook were to use the same user name and password as the GMS account (as specified by Internet standards), access through the proxy would be authenticated and it could collect email.
