Why Can I no longer get GMS Anti-Virus definition file updates?

Question

My GMS Anti-Virus license in the GUI shows that it still has a number of days left to run, however I am no longer able to obtain updates to the virus definition files via the automated update mechanism. Why is this?

Answer

The ability to receive updates to the virus definition files runs for a period of time from the date that the purchase of the license was made. If you applied the license key at some point after the purchase date the GUI will show that the license runs until the date you applied the license PLUS whatever period the license was for. However the license runs for the purchased period of time, from the date of purchase.

If the date you purchased the license PLUS the licensed period has been reached you will not receive any further updates to the virus definition files.

Please contact Sales to renew your license, as soon as they receive payment the ability to obtain updates to the virus definition files will be restored.
