Why are the alarms set for Calendar Events running at the incorrect time?

Question

GMS Web Organizer has personal calendaring from version 3032 which allows users to configure task and events and assign alarms to notify when these events are due.

Answer

All Calendar time functions are based upon the time zone of the server. Therefore if you are accessing GMS Web Organizer from a different time zone to the server, Calendar alarms need to be set for the servers time zone and not the local time zone of the users workstation.

The change to “Daylight Saving” also creates a similar situation due to the fact that this time zone change does not always occur on the same date on different continents.

Our development team are currently investigating a resolution to this issue.
