Question
I have certain types of files, for example those with a .scr extension, blocked from entering my server but I am finding that some users are still receiving these files.
What can I do about this?
Answer
We have detected a certain type of mime formatting which stops certain attachments being correctly detected by the GMS software.
This means that if you are blocking these types of files using the Attachment Blocking features of GMS Anti-Spam that you may see some attachments of the type you have blocked being allowed through to your users.
Users of GMS Anti-Virus that do not have the option to scan inline text enabled may also be susceptible to this issue. Enabling the scanning of inline text will overcome the issue without having to apply this hotfix, but we would recommend that you do so in any case.
