Why are calendar updates not showing up on my mobile device when using Nice Office?
I use Nice Office to automatically synchronize changes from my Microsoft Outlook calendar to my mobile device which is running Windows Mobile. However changes to my Outlook calendar are not appearing unless I synchronize manually.
What can I do to resolve this?
The problem is likely due to the use of the same email address for both Microsoft Outlook and the Windows Mobile device. The availability of updates to both Outlook the Windows Mobile device are notified via email, and which ever receives the notification email first will action it and delete it.
The result of this is that the Nice Office plug-in in Outlook will likely see the update notification first and action it resulting in the Windows Mobile device never seeing the notification.
To work round this issue you need to ensure that you use distinct email addresses for each of Outlook and your mobile device. The second address should be configured on the mobile device and can be any account including free email accounts, just as long as mail can be retrieved via the mobile device. It would be used for notification purposes only. You can also continue to use your main email account on the mobile device.
eAgency are aware of this issue with their Nice Office product and are currently looking into a solution to the problem.
