Why am I unable to access GMS after changing the Administrators Password for Windows 2000?

Question

I have changed the Windows 2000 administrators password and now I am unable to access the GMS interface.

Answer

To ensure Dial Up schedules work on a Windows 2000 server it is neccessary to configure the GMS Configuration Manager to logon on to the server.

Now that the password has changed the GMS Configuration server is not able to run as it has an incorrect password. Without this service running it is not possible to access the GUI.

To change the password for this service follow the instructions in the KB entry below.
