What is WAP?

Answer

WAP stands for Wireless Application Protocol which is a means of accessing the Internet from any WAP enabled device. The WAP protocol was specifically developed to allow for a standard method of small, limited resource devices such as cell (mobile) phones accessing the Internet.

To access a WAP site it is normal to go through a WAP proxy, normally one hosted by your telephone service provider. Sites enabled for access via WAP are written in a specific language called WML, or Wireless Markup Language. WML is similar to HTML and is based on the XML standard.

GMS Mail provides WAP access services as aprt of the GMS.
