What is PASSWD?

PASSWD is short for Password and refers to the password server included with all installations of GMS.

The password server allows users to change their passwords from within any mail clients that supports this feature such as Eudora.

The password server runs on port 106 and is disabled by default. It can be enabled under the Security > Protocols page.

passwd is also the Unix password file.
