What is alert 8135?

Answer

GMS has rejected the command from the POP3 client because the client has not yet logged on using APOP. GMS has been configured to require all connections to use APOP authentication to prevent passwords being passed over the Internet in plain text.

In this case session Undefined was processing a connection from a POP3 client at Undefined. The remote client sent the command

 Undefined

and GMS responded with

 Undefined

You have several options

  • Remove the requirement for APOP for all POP3 connections;
  • Contact the person using the POP3 client and ask them to use a client that uses APOP; or
  • Contact the person using the POP3 client and suggest they use GMS Webmail
