What are Shared Calendars?

Answer

GMS Web Organizer allows users to share their calendar with other users. Users can determine who can see their calendar entries, and which entries they can see.

This would allow a PA to manage a Director’s diary for example, or you may set up a specific organization wide calendar to hold details of holidays which coudl be seen by all users within the organization.

As well as viewing other users calendars to which you have been given access rights you mail elect to display that calendar within your own calendar view. This is called "Show Through". This makes planning meetings, functions, and other scheduling tasks much easier as all entries may be viewed on a single page.

Calendar information is also integrated with GMS Instant Messenger and a users presence can be set in IM by the events that are happening within that users Calendar.

Note: Presence is sometimes known as status or availability.
