Unable to administer GMS Mail

Question

I am able to log on the GMS Mail WWW Configuration Service as a user but am unable to administer the server.

Answer

This is most likely due to the setup of the administrator account. Open regedt32, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareInternetShopperMailDomainUsers<username> and double click on the entry to open it for editing. Scroll down the list of entries until you see one that looks like:

AccessRights=65535

If the entry does not exist then you should create it. Now if you log on as username@domain.name you should have full rights to administer your mail server.

If you are only able to administer one domain then you will need to also remove the entry that reads:

Domains=…..
