I use Demon internet as my ISP and have trouble collecting from a POP account

Answer

By default Demon internet supply all their customers with an SMTP mail feed and this would be the recommended method of receiving mail from them.

To obtain mail via Demon Internet there are basically 2 options

  1. Demon provide an SMTP feed by default and this is what I would recommend is used, in this case they do not need to set up any dialup actions at all, simply set a dialup schedule and set it to “do nothing” when connected. Mail will be delivered automatically by Demon Internet into the correct users mailboxes (assuming the users have been set up on the system).
  2. Mail can also be collected from individual accounts on Demon using GMS Mail’s "Collect from POP" feature, in this case I would suggest setting up a separate rule for each user, i.e. collect mail for user1 and deliver it to user1. In this case they should make sure that they tell Demon Internet not to deliver mail to them via SMTP, as problems can arising if the mail is being accessed by both SMTP and POP simultaneously.

Please contact Demon Internet for information on disabling SMTP delivery of mail.
