Question
I have received a message informing me that the AV Updates failed to update one of the files. What action should I take to correct this?
Answer
The message will include details of which file was not updated. for example it may contain a line stating "Failed to update css3rde.dll (5)"
- Windows
To manually update the file first stop all of the GMS services by running "mail -stop" from the gordanobin directory. Once the services have stopped move the file mentioned, in this case css3rde.dll, from the gordanobincommandwinntintelupdate directory to the gordanobincommand directory over writing the file already there. Once complete restart the GMS services by running "mail -start" from the gordanobin directory. - Unix
To manually update the file first stop all of the GMS services by running "./glmail -stop" from the /opt/gordano/mail/bin directory. Once the services have stopped move the file mentioned, using the same example it would be called css3rde.so on Unix, from the /opt/gordano/mail/bin/command/Linux/intel/update/ directory to the /opt/gordano/mail/bin/command/ directory over writing the file already there. Once complete restart the GMS services by running "./glmail -start" from the /opt/gordano/mail/bin/ directory.
Note: The path for Unix machines will vary slightly depending on the operating system you are using.
Versions 3180 and above of GMS are not affected by this issue. We recommend that customers upgrade to the latest release of GMS to avoid encountering this problem.
