How does GMS work out where to deliver email?

All of Gordano products are “extremely presistent” in delivering email (as defined by RFC974). This means that GMS Mail, GMS Webmail, and GMS Communication Server will do all that is possible in order to deliver email to the destination.

Assuming that no specific rules have been set, the following mechanism will be used:

1. Lookup MX records, removing self and lower priority values.
2. If there are valid MX records, use them else
3. Try destination domain directly using the ANAME or CNAME.
