How do I pass the GFI "Fragmented message vulnerability test (for Outlook Express)"?

Question

I have performed the Fragmented message vulnerability test (for Outlook Express) from the GFI security website which indicates that my server is not protected. How do I protect against this type of message?

Answer

To prevent fragmented messages being delivered to your system, you need to apply one of the following:

If you are running a version of GMS earlier than build 3075, you need to add an entry to your Restricted words file in the following format:

message/partial

If you are running build 3075 of GMS or higher, you can use the inbuilt message quality checks to block these messages.

Usage of the message quality checking in GMS is outlined in KB article Q0965, included in the “See Also” section of this article.
